Hui Qi's most relevant experience includes: 

  • UI Designer for an Esports Company: Hui Qi drove the conceptualization and communication of design objectives, using user flows and prototypes to ensure team alignment and collaboration.

  • Lead Designer for Love Our ’Hood Project: HuiQi led the design efforts for the 'Love Our ’Hood' project, delivering both physical products and functional prototypes. Her contributions brought the project to life, blending creativity and practicality to meet the initiative's goals.

  • UI Designer for ION Website: HuiQi was responsible for the redesign of the ION website, delivering refreshed, user-centric designs. Her work focused on improving usability and visual appeal, aligning the website with the brand's identity and user expectations.

  • Lead Designer for Capitastar: HuiQi led the revamp of the Capitastar mobile app, delivering comprehensive end-to-end designs. She ensured a seamless user experience and elevated the app's overall design, meeting both user and business objectives.

Imagine your favourite part of your job as an ice cream flavour. 
What would it be, and why?

I really love tiramisu, and if my favorite part of being a UI designer were an ice cream flavor, it would definitely be this one. Just like tiramisu’s layers of coffee, cream, and cocoa, UI design is about combining visuals, usability, and details to create a seamless experience.

The coffee represents bold and purposeful design choices, the creamy layer reflects smooth and user-friendly interfaces, and the cocoa on top is the final polish that makes everything look and feel just right!

What is something you are deeply curious about?

I’m deeply curious about why users never read tooltips but still get confused when they don’t know what to do. 🧐 I love figuring out how design influences human behaviour—why certain UI elements feel intuitive while others make people rage-click. It fascinates me how tiny tweaks, like a well-placed button or the right amount of white space, can completely change the user experience.
